Frequently Asked Questions

  • Artists and movers ages 7+ of ALL abilities are welcome to register for Luminous events. We’re a welcoming place for everyone no matter where you are in your dance journey. Our mission is joy and growth for all.

A dancer access check in will be sent prior to all events for those who may require special accommodations or access needs.

  • Great questions! Pricing for our workshops can be found HERE. Our goal is to be as financially accessible as possible. In this vein, we offer need-based scholarships by application. These open 60 days prior to each event.

If you would like to apply, please click on your cities workshop page and click APPLY.

  • Full schedules will be sent out via email to participants 2 weeks prior to each event. See a general weekend schedule HERE

  • Absolutely! We recommend that studios register together with their studio owner. When registering, there is a space to add your studio name in order to be eligible for studio/group discounts.

To learn about these discounts, click HERE.

  • Observer bands are needed to watch Luminous classes. For regional workshops, the observers Fee for classes is $45 for one day or $60 for the full weekend. You can purchase observer bands while registering online or on site (pending availability).

The fee is to ensure that classes remain safe, quiet, and focused for all students. We also must abide by capacity restrictions (and make sure the room does not become overcrowded).

If your dancer has an access need that requires an observer, please email us at hello@movewithluminous.com and we are happy to help facilitate this.

  • Meals are not provided by Luminous. However, most hotels will have restaurants or cafes on site. Often, there are restaurants or fast food places near the hotel/convention center as well. It is best to pick up your dancers’ lunch before class ends so that they have time to replenish and fuel up.

  • Absolutely! All registered teachers (with teacher bands) may observe or dance in all class levels as they wish! We ask that you please remain respectful and stand towards the back of the room while learning.

Teachers are not eligible for scholarships.

  • While classroom level delegation is up your dance teachers discretion, we recommend that all dancers remain in their appropriate age level. The goal of Luminous is to have dancers of all levels learning from each other and creating community through out the weekend.

Please note that dancers in an age level outside of their own may not be eligible for scholarships.

  • Photography and Video recording from any media devices (i.e. digital cameras, cell phones, SLR’s, Flip, etc) is strictly prohibited during classes and the Luminous Showcase. This is to enforce the children’s safety and privacy, as well as protecting the work of choreographers and faculty. We do, however, offer professional photo and video services at each of our events.
