Luminous Tour is a dance convention experience rooted in education and community building.

At Luminous, we believe we have a responsibility to share the joy of dance with all.

Our workshops are designed to engage students in a fun yet challenging dance experience that fosters community building and personal growth for all. We encourage, support, and celebrate our students during the 3-day event.

The Luminous Tour is a one-of-a-kind dance convention experience rooted in education and creativity.

Students begin their days with yoga and indulge in multiple dance genre classes with well-vetted and Dance Equity Association-certified industry professionals. Highlights include specially curated improvisation parties, Unique Movers Dance classes, free college auditions, and a showcase!

We’re proud to be providing need-based scholarships for every event. Sponsored by the Luminous Foundation, students can apply for pre-convention scholarships for every event.

ABOUT US

  • Luminous workshops include 10+ hours of instruction by world-class, DEEA-certified industry professionals. Each event has an optional improvisation party that has been specially curated for all participants.

  • At Luminous, we focus on artistry and education. We aim to create inclusive and inspiring spaces that give the opportunity for all students to thrive and have fun!

  • At Luminous, we invest in our students! We are dedicated to the mental and physical well-being of young dancers and structure our programs in a way that allows for artistic growth, healthy challenges, and ample rest.

  • Our weekend workshop is curated around our student’s artistic growth. We look forward to watching dancers grow over the course of our weekend together!

  • Our goal is for each student to walk out of a Luminous weekend feeling inspired. We encourage students to access their authentic light as they inspire each other and create long-lasting friendships.

  • Luminous is focused on the importance of community within the dance world. We welcome ALL dancers and bring students together, with the goal of teaching the value that every individual brings to the table.

WHAT WE DO

  • We aim to be a place everyone leaves feeling supported, uplifted, and included. We are dedicated to taking extensive steps to protecting young artists in our environment. We have strict protocols in place for hiring and teacher certification as well as plans in place to keep us accountable. We are lucky to have been working closely with both Keanu Uchida and the DEEA team to ensure that our policies and procedures are maintained to the highest standard.

  • Luminous is dedicated to moving with everyone. We consider accessibility above all in order to provide the most inclusive environment possible. We are dedicated to access check-ins for all participants and appropriate accommodation whenever needed.

  • We are determined to move with equity at the forefront. values and are determined to rewrite a system that is just and fair for all. This will be implemented in terms of payment for our teachers, making registration fees for those attending our events more affordable, offering pre-convention scholarships, and condemning racism, homophobia, and transphobia in our space.

  • Luminous is dedicated to providing high industry education and knowledge for dancers, and we don't take the role of education lightly. We understand the impact that we have on the younger generations and aim to lead by example. We believe in prioritizing high-quality education with incredibly knowledgeable and industry-experienced teachers while taking the steps needed behind the scenes to keep the environment safe and joyful for our young dancers. Our goal is to educate dancers on movement, genre history, their own unique voice, body alignment, body autonomy, and help raise confident artists.

  • Luminous is dedicated to moving forward with compassion. We believe compassion leads the way to all things beautiful and successful. Greed is not welcome here.
